Each piece of wood that goes into the construction of an instrument has it's own special characteristics. I combine only pieces that are sympathetic to each other.
Wherever possible the wood is finished with materials that compliment the instruments tone and natural colour, not heavy plastic finishes that kill any sound from the wood.
Each neck is hand carved from a band sawed blank, not buzzed out from a CNC cutter.
Truss rods are double expanding to correct any relief.
The body shapes that I have developed have come from years of experimentation and advice from players as well.

Construction Philosophy
I have been building electric guitars and basses since 1977.
As a bassist, guitarist and woodworker I noticed the instruments of that time were full of deficiencies. After attending a Led Zeppelin concert in the mid 70's I saw bassist John Paul Jones playing custom 8 and 4 string bass guitars. I then started to build my own basses. Fellow musician friends soon began to commission instruments after playing my early instruments!
After working at Mason And Risch Pianos in Toronto I decided to move back to Ottawa and start building and repairing instruments full time.
